In 2023 the Arkona Lion's Club worked with the services of Blue Coast Primary Care – Recruitment & Retention for Lambton County to secure a family physician - Dr. Farah (Farahnaz Farzadfar). Shortly after arrangements were made Dr. Farah began accepting patients for coverage from the Lambton Shores, Middlesex and Huron County areas. In January 2026, the Arkona Medical Centre welcomed Dr. Mehri Hamidi, who joined Dr. Farzadfar to offer additional hours of service, bringing her own clinical expertise and dedication to patient care.
This expansion enhances access to quality family medicine in the region.

The Arkona Lion's Club is made up of community working together, individuals from all walks of life, volunteering with decades of service through the local Lions Club. Our goal is to assist experienced professionals who are serving our community that are dedicated to providing exceptional service. We do this by recognizing their needs and assisting in finding solutions. Our community will always be thankful for the years of dedication that Pete Sisler spent supporting the Arkona Medical and Dental Clinics. The careful attention to details with remodels and construction changes over the years to the medical and dental clinics, open communication to meet requests of the professionals serving and striving to serve to make sure the commuity would always
have the care he deeply believed in.

The Medical and Dental Centre came to be part of our community in the early 1960's. We have appreciated and are incredibly fortunate to have known the care in service by some of the best Dr.'s and support staff over the years and continue to strive to keep the local medical centre providing care at such a level.

Since it's opening the Arkona Medical Centre has served it's community with quality and individual care. Dr. Tom Wolder served the community of Arkona and it's surrounding area eventually transferring to a new location in Strathroy Dr. Robert Beattie and Dr. Wayne Johnson worked together as a team with their administrative and small pharmacy staff for decades. Both Doctors served the community until their chosen retirement dates. Following Dr. Johnson's retirement in 2016, Joanne Shepherd the centre's administrator tirelessly working behind the scenes with the Lions Club to fill the very large shoes and huge hearts of the recently retired Doctors.
